I'm ordering some sex-links this week (Golden Buffs from Meyer) and am wondering when I can expect them to start laying? (I'll keep lights on them.)

From what I have read . . . . the sexlinks tend to be early maturers. My black sexlinks were not much earlier than other breeds I had; the overlapped with SLW and production reds.

Born early February, they have been laying for several weeks now, pullet eggs mind you; they are about 5 1/2 months old now.

You may want to let them grow up and mature a bit, like 6 months, before setting the lights on them. You can read other opinions, as people have various ideas on this.
