Sex these turkeys and chickens please!

Nugget is extremely pretty. I've seen other pictures of Buffs before but they didn't look as golden. I'm wondering about my turkeys now. My father-in-law thought that the females didn't lose to many feathers on their necks. We have one that I know is a female that is the smallest but she twisted and broke her leg and it didn't heal straight so we are going to end up eating her. I've got 3 others that I know there is at least one male out of them. Are the royal palms friendly in small groups? I might be getting some next summer.

ha my royal palms can be friendly...
they are a smaller breed of turkey
my two aren't mean but they sometimes nip at me...
especially shiny things
but i'd say their nice...
they get along with my chickens and ducks...
aren't afraid of me
and they hop up in my lap sometimes..

Reveriereptile: I'm not liking Nuggets color... it's not really what the breed description calls for, I have a rooster the same color, and he is gorgeous.
My girly turkey has lost some feathers on her neck...
my male just recently started getting greenish/bluish in his face... when he turns red...
I really really hope this is a pair

How funny - I named our turkeys "Christmas and Thanksgiving" too!! We thought we had a pair, because one was considerably larger than the other, but they both turned out to be females.

Reconsider yanking eggs of purebred royal palms... You can either sell eggs, or young poults for 6$ and MORE. Easy.

A note at the Co-op, or feed store or a trip to a local poultry sale) - which you should be attending anyway if you've any interest in long term poultry keeping, and you could make more than enough to feed them and probably enough to start saving for a car and insurance.

If you're keeping them anyway - never look a gift egg in the --- mouth... Hmmm. Almost worked.

Learning to network livestock is a big part of keeping them without LOSING money. Sure it's just 4-H, but no reason it can't help you along in life. Think about it. You have GOT to have want its. Your parents could use the extra for feed money if you're not buying it.

People really like purebred turkey poults. Learning to sell and ship eggs isn't all that hard. Good luck, they're adorable.
