Newbie chicken owner here, already addicted (to the chickens and this site). Any chance you guys can see gender clues in these pics? There are nine chicks, ranging in age from around 3 weeks to 7 (we got from a local shop that works with a local breeder). We know that Nora, our Norweigan Jaerhon, is a lady and Laverne, our Lavender Orpington is most definitely le Verne; the other seven are still TBD. Their breeds/ages:
Flo-Swedish Flower, she's the largest of the crew and at ~7 weeks is looking hen-like, we think?
Sylvia-Silver Penciled Rock, 6 weeks, the smallest of all
Pearl-Black Copper Maran, 7 weeks, does the upright walk quite a bit and is skittish, but no real comb to speak of yet
Velma-Barnevelder, 7 weeks
Cora-Coronation Sussex, 4 weeks
Marcy-Marraduna Basque, 3 weeks
Connie-Ameracauna, 6 weeks, gray
Also, wondering how close we are to be able to move from brooder to coop? Most seem like they're feathering, even Cora and Marcy, the youngest. We live in Oakland, Ca, so very temperate climate but we don't want to move too early. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
