Sexing black sex links for the first time...

He'll work... He's solid colored.... so he can father sex links. Heck, if you got leghorns and barred rocks, you could do red sex links and black sex links.
I do have leghorns! But the resulting chicks looked like this. I thought I would have RSLs but someone said that it was the hatchery style genes that screwed me up…. So frustrating!

Thanks, and always happy for a friendly hijacking :)

Shame we got two boys, after finally getting the bantam boy to work out how to master the standard size Plymouth Rock.

She's my son's favourite so I want to keep her. But he only managed to mate her after she had a couple of days in the naughty corner (a nice pen but separated) for being mean to some newcomers. She's quite dominant in the pen AND won't let the bantam mate her AND eats the most food.

Finally had two eggs develop... And they were boys 🤪
