I posted this under behaviors and didnt get much response and then I saw this thread. Hopefully someone can help me.
Hi all. I have read my books and online that Copper marans have a color different between the male and female. The male being lighter than the female. Here's my question........Do the females ever crow?
Here's the senario.....I bought 2 new rir pullets that are 15 weeks old about the same age as the others, I was in the run watching over them to try to get everyone used to the new girls. Then I hear crowing (not Unusual since I do have 2 roosters) but then I see that the supposed maran hen is crowing. First time I have heard "her" crowing. Is she crowing because of the stressful situation or is she a "he"?
I have done quite a few searches, not much reliable info on this.
