Last year somethng wiped out a bunch of our flock, including most ducks. We had magpie ducks. We were left with 1 male duck. A friend gave us a couple duck eggs which we were able to hatch only 1. Her's were mixed and the duck we hatched is now about full grown. It is basically all black and looks like a Cayuga. Has some green shine to the wings and just a touch of white to breast/neck area. I can't tell if it's a girl. Do the black males only have this green shine? The tail isn't curled much yet but does have a bit of curve to it.
