Hello! I got 2 RIRs from the local feed store and am trying to figure out what gender they are. One has lots of feathers on the tail and seemed to get them faster. They are a bit over 2 weeks old...Thanks!!!

I'm saying it's still too early, but if I had to guess, perhaps the left one is a roo.

I have 4 girls I bought from the local feed store and 3 have tails like your left one with more feathers coming in and one has almost no tail feathers...

My guess is that it is too early for you to be able to tell, or else i'm screwed with 3 roos and a girl...HA!

Wow! You guys are quick! I'm guessing that the one on the left is a roo also but keeping my fingers crossed that they are both girls

Look for a black stripe going down the top of the head. Thats a female. Congradulations on the new babies!

Both of the RIRs seem to have the brown stripe so I'll just have to be more patient

I have been looking around this website almost obsessively for a few months now. We ordered the chicks in April , got 2 (the RIRs) a bit over 2 weeks ago and then got the other 4 (2 Ameraucana, 2 Silver laced Wyandottes). They are super fun!

Thanks again for the welcome and support!!! You guys are great
