Sexing Silkies (PIC HEAVY

I have two silkies that are about 10 weeks old that I am unsure about the sex of them (I know silkies are hard to sex) and I am leaning towards roos, but really hoping with all my might they are not.
They are both the same age however, they look totally different so I think I may have gotten a cross in the mix...bought from a feed store. The black on is quite small and has not grown much bigger since we got it, and his comb has "spikes"...he/she is half the size of the buff.
Anyways...thought?

Both look like girls to me going off of comb/lack of comb development. I wouldn't say I was an expert by any means but here's a pic of my boy at about the same age as yours. See his big ol' comb. It's my understanding the girls have little to no comb, like yours.

Oh I so am hoping they are girls! I have a silkie roo already and he started getting waffles (sp) and that was my first indicator with him. But, these two both look totally different than my other silkies and the black one is SMALL...she/he is still the size of a a 6 to 8 week old standard size chick. Oh and the "spiked" comb?

Thank you for your reply. I know its still a waiting game, but I just wanted to see what others thought.

I'm thinking the black one is a pullet and the buff is a cockerel.

both look like pullets but watch the buff one the comb might not be big but its wide

Thank you...I'm hoping at least one is a pullets, but still have fingers crossed tightly that they are both pullets!

I'm thinking the black is a roo, just because of the way he stands more upright, but hopefully it's a pullet. There's a new method of beak sexing for silkies, there's not a lot of info on it and I don't think it's been tested on a large scale, but a few people on here have had luck with it. Apparently Roos and pullets have different shaped beaks, Roos have more hook shaped and pullets have a curve, it's a small difference but noticeable if you look close. I really hope it's accurate because it's the only confirmation that my mystery silkie is a girl lol
