Sorry no camera at the feed store this morning. They had their ducks on sale and the ones that I think are welsh harliquins are yellow with dark grey beaks and bicolor beaks. Is there any characteristics that can help me determine if they are welsh and tips or tricks to increase my chance to get females. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
James

Can't tell. They are probably to old. Once they are 4 days old the bill sexing thing pretty much goes away mostly. But if some have blue bills, and some pinkish blue, it may notbhave. Males have blue bills, females have pinkish blue. Good luck!

Yeah... Males usually have blue bills. The females are bit lighter with a dark spot at the end.

I don't really trust the bill sexing thing. I trust the vent sexing way better.

How long will the bill coloring work. These ducks are at least a week old and maybe 2 weeks.

Will a feed store generally allow you to vent sex the ducklings before you choose or is that generally frowned upon?
