Every chick and juvenile I saw mounting another or attempted to turned out to be males. Never saw a female mount another. One season I decided to tag all baby peachicks caught in the act of mounting or trying to(making a run at another and trying to grab/climb onto them)... all of them turned out to be males.
IMO they do it as a form or play.. or they simply like it. Some girls do not want to play that and refuse him.. a few girls do like it and willingly squat and they go through the complete motions of breeding same as the way adults breed. Many forms of young animal play is doing the same adult behaviors but for "fun". Just like kittens doing the crouch, stalk and "killing" another kitten.. that is play but it is same range of behavior the adult cat uses to stalk and kill prey. Same thing.
8 months is excellent age to compare the legs and toes. Female toes are also much skinnier and shorter than males. If the toes seem very skinny and short on the other two compared to his toes. you most likely have 2 females. I would agree that if you are not in hurry to sell or want to get mates asap, just enjoy them especially if their size in body and legs/toes are pretty different.
