Hi! We are new to having chickens but an old chicken farmer told us how to sex your chickens! It works great! We are a family of 5 with 3 dogs 3 cats and 13 chickens! We tried this on all of us and all our animals and it was right every time.

Take a washer and a rubber band....
If it spins in a circle its a girl and if it swings back and forth in a line its a boy!

Way back I remember someone telling me that's how a woman could tell if she was having a boy or girl. The chances of it being right for a chicken are probably about the same as they are for humans...50/50.

Not quite the same thing, but I read an article that you can loose calories in your sleep. I nap most of the day and haven't lost an ounce. If the a washer and a rubber band worked - NO ONE would be stuck with tons of roosters.

Glad you could join the flock! I too have heard of similar things used to sex animals and pregnant animals. I heard a needle on cotton does the same thing. I have to say I'm rather sceptical about it. I may give it a try on my next batch of chicks that hatch and see what happens.
