All mallard derived ducks look similar to females in the beginning. If I had to guess, I would say you have a drake. Female mallards have a two-toned bill and lighter two-toned feathers above the tail. Your ducks voice though is really the key. If it quacks, it is a girl. If it sounds raspy like it has lost its voice it is a boy (drake).
