How old do chicks need to be before you can tell the sex? What are things that differentiate a roo from a pullet? Thanks

Look around at some pictures. The boys will have bigger, redder combs.

Take some pictures and post them in the "What breed or gender is this?" section. Somebody will know what they are.

That is my best advice! I'm hopeless.

The Raising Chickens For Dummies book says once they start getting their hackle feathers you can sometimes tell the boys from the girls by the tips of the feathers. Boys have pointed and girls have more rounded tips.
