The poncho was made with a square of fleece, with a hole cut for the head. 3.75” sides. Keep in mind, fleece doesn’t fray, so this didn’t have a seam allowance. It is easier to make this from a fabric that doesn’t fray.
 
Tomorrow, Eila is going to wear this beautiful dress made from the cuff of a sock! I think her black feathers will bring out the color nicely.

The sock was cut 4” from the top. I cut wing-holes to let the wings through. They are 1 cm deep, and 2cm long. I whip stitched around the hole to make sure it didn’t fray. I also whip stitched around the bottom.
Then I took a 6.5” long strip of cloth, and gathered it down to 3.25”. I then sewed it on with a running stitch. If you wanted to, you could add embellishments to the vest, but I’m leaving it as is.
