Shade or sunshine?

Do the Hen Houses have to be in the sun? Or can they be in all shade?

Where do you live?
Florida?Louisianna?Texas = shade
Oregon?Washington?Minnesota?= sun

But keep in mind chickens are more cold tolerant than they are heat tolerant.

I live in ct too, I have my coop in the shade and the run half in shade.

I live in NH. Coop in shade and run in 1/2 shade and 1/2 sun.

Okay, because we have a dog pen (the previous owners built it) and we're going to use that, It's in mostly shade but does get some sun. Thanks guys!

I have my new coop under some large oak trees so they get mostly shade in the summer and sun in the winter. The run (under construction) will have both sun & shade.
