Shades of Green 💚

The best shade of chicken eggs has to be green, in my opinion, because it is the most variable. There are tons of genes that affect the shade of green you get, from tint genes to speckling genes.

I wonder, however, what colors are possible for green and olive eggs. How many different and unique shades are there? To answer my question, I decided to ask you all to share your favorite green egg pictures, most especially the ones that stretch the bounds of what green is. Any egg that has blue and tint together is welcome here!

I’ll start with an OE egg and a light green egg.

Love that green egg! I’ve never seen one quite that shade.
