Hi~
Welcome to the treats for chickens thread!
Here's a recipe I make for my chickens often: Kitchen scrap pie!
ingredients:
Chicken feed
water
Kitchen scraps of choice (fruits or veggies)
pie pan, container, etc.
Yogurt (optional)
Oats (optional)
Method:
Combine chicken feed (any type works, even add some grit or oyster shells if you want), and water in a bowl. Chop or mash your kitchen scraps and mix them together, while the chicken food soaks in the water. Stir the chicken food and water mixture until it is in the form of mush, and has soaked up all the water. If it is very liquidy, add more feed and allow to soak another minute or two. Once the "mush" is thick enough, pour it into your pan/container. Spread it evenly throughout the pan, pushing it up onto the sides. Once done, add chopped/mashed kitchen scraps and spread equally throughout pan. Add any toppings (meal worms, oats, yogurt, etc), if you want. Serve
