Ok I have a question. I work at farm and we are thinking about using paper we have in the office shredded for the hen boxes. Any feed back on this idea would be great.

I've never tried using paper but I would be concerned about any ink on the paper transfering to the hens warm humid body as she sits in the nest.

also if the hens ingest it. it might get stuck in their crop

This is one of those topics that comes up from time to time.

Several people have posted before that they tried it and the paper basically turns into a soggy mess of 'concreted' paper after a while if used as bedding.

In the nest box would probably be OK, depending on the type of paper and type of ink, AND if your girls are good about keeping the boxes clean.
