She laid a cracked egg?

First time I’ve seen this, girls are a year old. The egg was laid cracked, not all the way through. The cracks are a darker color. Is this odd?

That is an internally repaired crack. I have a hen who used to lay them all the time that way. It was rare that she laid a normal egg.
FWIW, she'll be 7 on April 29th.

Agree. You can safely eat that egg but I would not try to hatch it. I try to not hatch eggs from hens that lay odd or unusual eggs just in case there is some genetic cause.

I was wondering what the inside would be like, thought about using it for the dogs ha, glad it’s safe to eat. No chance in any eggs hatching here, thanks so much.
