Hi everyone so we got 3 ducks a Rouen Swedish and Cayuga I do believe and we thought they were all females but their feathers are starting to come in and we have 2 brownish colored and a greenish colored duck with a greenish bill now so we are thinking she might be a he or if its just her breed?! Here are some pics if the duck in question Sorry for the bad quality of pics but its a cell phone and they don't exactly sit still lol

Black ducks, male and female, can have green and/or purple sheen on their feathers. Some breeds will develop a green head, which would be a male. But many breeds juvenile feathering is the same for males and females and you need to wait for the adult plumage to come in. Bill color does not determine gender in most breeds.

What do they sound like? Females have a distinct quack, males make a raspy sound. They look a bit young to be determining gender right now.

If you have 2 brownish colored, then you don't have a cayuga, as they are black. Maybe rouen or mallard. The one in the pic does look to be a swedish.
