She's probably going on 3 years old now. The flock has been established for MONTHS, so it's not a noobie pecking order re arrangement thing.
She just got incredibly mean.
For absolutely NO reason she is picking on everyone else, especially the poor younger ones. She's walking up to them and tearing feathers out and now her latest arsenal of buyllying, she's grabbing onto the combs / waddles and not letting go. They are trying to get away, crying, and she ripped little chunks out of the other's combs, now that I know what it looks like and see the damage she's been doing over time.
Here's the thing, SHE has not laid eggs in several months now. She stopped laying probably in September. I thought ok maybe she's going thru a molt, nope, that happened back end of november, going into december.
The new little ones should be laying eggs now but are not. I wonder if the stress of worrying about when she will just come around a corner and attack them has them all wired out and worried. They try to be friendly but every time she comes in view they get scared and run away, you can see she's got them on pins and needles.
They ALL are eating very well so it's NOT a diet thing that I can see. The others are fine.
Why would a bird who was totally fine and friendly, turn into such a butch?
This is the third time this month she's in the timeout cage. Once more and Im culling her. She's not laying anyways, has not been for months, and now, is harming my others. She has no value to me at this point. I'll take her out and do a saus vide' video on her how to make an old witch tender... with spices
