I am so excited. My dear husband finally said I can use an eyesore of a shed for a coop! Woo hoo! Today I emptied it And power washed in and out. Next is to remove the broken door and frame in a smaller regular size door and screen door. There is a big tear in the front left that I think will work or perfectly for nest box placement.
Once I get that all situated I can move on to the run construction. I may get some chickens before the fall!

That shed will make a very nice hen house!

If you want a larger run I have found welded wire fencing (4' or better, 6' tall) and some heavy avian netting makes short work of a large run. You can just pound metal stakes into the ground and wire the fence directly to it. It is maybe a half day job if that.

Nice thing about just pounding in stakes is that the run can be moved or changed around later without it being a big hassle.

Good luck with the project! It looks like a nice size to work with.

Make sure to provide plenty of ventilation -- about 1 square foot per bird is often recommended. My personal rule of thumb, especially because I live in a warm climate, is that I have enough ventilation when it's not hotter inside than out on a hot summer day. :)
