Howdy all! (I know it's been a while, but I'm back :D)
I have participated in, and done quite well in, chicken 4-H for the last eight years, and I have been considering branching out and doing sheep 4-H as well. Just one problem though: I know nothing about sheep! I need information about keeping and caring for sheep. I live in Idaho, so the climate is freezing winters and springs and hot summers. We would be getting the lambs in March -ish, and selling them at the fair in August. Has anyone here done sheep 4-H before? How much do lambs usually go for in county fairs?

Thank you all in advance!

First of all, get a book about sheep. Try one of the Storey books. They have good information for beginners on just about any class of livestock. Go the the agricultural extension office in your area. They should have bulletins available that are either free or very inexpensive.
