Last night when I was in the coop I noticed one of my Seabright's (Sally) eggs had pipped. I went out this morning to check and a couple of others had pipped too but I didn't see any progress from last night. Then I counted my eggs... 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 huh? 1-2-3-4-5-6-7... there should be 8! I frantically searched for egg fragments and found none, then I started digging around the nest and found a chick! she had pecked it then buried it!

Needless to say it is a good thing I have the bator running, day 19 with mutts and blue rocks.

I kicked her out of the pen and into the coop! I took the eggs and the chick in and put them in the bator with my current batch. I think baby will be fine, just a little open wound, but mainly needs to warm up.

The amazing thing is that last night when I transfered the eggs out of the turner there were exactly 7 bad eggs that I took out... God knows and has a reason for everything.

I'm at work...

DH just called to let me know that baby was doing good and that another has hatched!
