What’s everyone’s thoughts on letting a broody hatch shipped eggs? More successful naturally or with an incubator? Or possibly a mix of both?
I have a dozen hatching eggs coming in tomorrow and my current thought is to start them in the incubator until day 3 without turning, and then stick them under a hen until day 18. I know shipped eggs have more hatching issues so I’m contemplating hatching them in an incubator where I’ll be able to better assist (yes I’m a helper when it comes to hatching
) and then once they are out and fluffy returning them to mama hen to raise. Thoughts? Anyone tried something similar?
