the eggs that I had shipped are hatching. Is it normal to get a more than normal amount of eggs pipping on the wrong end.
When I candle them i can see air sacs at the wrong end too.
I turned them and have a new hygrometer, so I can only think it's becaused they were shipped.

They may have been stored improperly before shipping, (pointy end up) and then of course the shipping did not help. Before you incubate eggs, you should candle to make sure the air chamber is at the large end of the egg. :)

If not then what do I do with the eggs?
I did rest them for 24 hours,

If the air chamber is in the wrong place, then there isn't much you can do about it, other than rest them longer. Sometimes that will fix some eggs. I would store these eggs in a very cool place and let them rest for a week. Someplace where it is 50 degrees or cooler. Not the frig, as they could freeze. Candle them again before setting to see if the air chamber as repositioned itself to the top of the egg.

Other than this, next time, do not order from the place you got these eggs in the first place. I believe that it was the improper storage of the eggs from the start, not necessarily the shipping. :)

I hate to tell you where I got the eggs from then.
Every one on here is ordering from them.
Wouldn't resting the eggs for an additional week mess with the fertility. I had to toss 14 of the 32 because of fertility any way.

If I were in your position, I would contact this seller and talk to them. Describe what is going on and see what they have to say. And yes, the longer you let them rest, the more infertile they become. Shipping can be brutal on eggs. But you shouldn't get that many eggs with the air chamber at the pointy end of the egg. Something is a miss there.

How did you let them rest after receiving them in the mail? Did you candle before setting them? And how are you setting them in your incubator? Are the eggs being turned properly all through the incubation cycle?

no I don't candle before setting. not till 6-7 days. Eggs were rested big side up in my spare room. About 50 degees in there. 24 hours.
turned by hand 3 times a
day till lock down.
eggs were collected 3 days before I got them.
Maybe post office shipped upside down.

How long were the eggs on the road? Usually if the eggs were stored correctly, improper shipping will not cause too many air cells to move to the pointy end of the egg, unless they sat for many days upside down. I am still thinking that they were not properly stored before they were shipped to you.

That does give me somethng to think about. But because it was only my 3rd incubator load I can't say what went wrong. I will keep notes on this and see if I can figure it out as I gain experience.
