Okay I'm getting some eggs from someone on eggbid. However they were shipped from CA on Saturday and are still not here. ;(
How long do I have before they will no longer be viable and won't be able to hatch?

I hope you're right. I'll have to check to see when they were harvested.

For anyone who ships eggs, do you ever ship over the weekend? The person I bought the eggs from shipped them Saturday priority. They are still not here. My question is for those who ship or have shipped eggs, have you ever over the weekend? If sent Fri, Sat then obviously they will sit a day on Sunday. Just wondering....

I often get eggs shipped like that, you'll probably get them tomorrow. Usually mine come mon or tues if they are sent Sat but not always. They do lose make mistakes really very often.

But if they're well handled the extra couple/few days isn't that big a deal, mishandling/over heating/crushing are the real problems.

I've hatched eggs over five weeks old. I've hatched refridgerated eggs, eggs gathered muddy and near frozen.

Cooked and crushed are harder to recover from than age or cold.

Just let them rest upright 24 hours before you put them in and if they look roughed up you can set them in a carton upright in the incubator for a day or two after you set them to give the aircell a good chance to re-establish position. Once I left them upright after a particularly bad shipment for a week. All of those hatched despite some very weird lose and broken aircells when they got here.

10 days is fine, after that they start losing there hatch ability, as days go by...so do your chances after the big 10

I prefer to ship on Saturdays when I know the distance is more than 250 miles or so. Even though POs arent open on Sunday the mail still moves around the country in trucks and on planes.

I would be worried though if they were mailed last Mon. Priority should have gotten them to you by now.

Good luck!

They were mailed the 22nd and the person I bought them from said they were harvested on the 20th(?) so I am hoping that they will be here tomorrow.
