Shipping Chickens

I'm going to have chickens shipped to me. How do I go about this? Are they delivered to my door? Do I have to pick them up at the PO?
Will they be relatively safe this time of year?

chickens are shipped either overnight service or priority service (2 day service) depending where your chickens are coming from. The person sending the chickens puts your phone number on the box and the post office will call you as soon as they arrive. Some post offices will deliver right to your door, but I think it is easier on the chickens if you pick them up at your post office. I have sent and recieved chickens with no problem, they do really well. I recently had some chickens sent to me (I live in WA.) from Florida and the weather was not a problem. I hope this helps.
