Shipping day old Goslings.

I typically wait a minimum of 24 hrs. old before I ship mine anyway.
I want them up on their feet, perky and eating and drinking before I send them off.
I have shipped them when they were 2-3 days old with no problems
but I only ship Express Mail.
Just make sure they have been fed and watered before sending
them off and include a heat pak if the weather is cold.
I get my heat paks at Cutler Supply.
Hope this helps.

If you're wanting to ship day-old goslings by priority mail you need to set the eggs so they should hatch early in the week. Even shipping Express, you can't send them any later than Thursday from my P.O., some have a Wednesday cut-off day for shipping.

You could always purchase some gro-gel to put in their box to make sure they have something to eat, or put some romaine lettuce in there for them to nibble on.

Dorothy, I would wait until Monday to ship and put some fruit in their box. That's what I've been doing if my babies are older than 24 hours old. I'm using cut up grapes, tomatoes, plums, watermelon.

I don't think Horizon sells small chick boxes.
The small ones (#XS25) I get from Cutlers hold 4 day old goslings quite well.
I make a nest of straw to cushion them and add a heat pak during cold weather.
Cutler sells heat paks too.
