Hi All! I'm looking for someone who would be interested in shipping a dozen eggs bi-weekly to Waukesha, WI.

My mom is obsessed with farm fresh eggs, but has a hard time consistently finding them. Thought it would be a nice christmas gift to get her an egg "subscription" of some sort that could be delivered right to her door. I haven't found anyone in the area that could deliver so I guess the next option is shipping.

Open to suggestions of farms/people in the Southeast WI area that may also be interested in delivery.

Thanks!!

Price of shipping would be crazy high for eating eggs. Let alone repeatedly. Is she allowed to have chickens in her area? You could surprise her with chicks that would give her eggs.

If she is only eating a dozen eggs bi-weekly, 3-4 hens should supply her with MORE than enough eggs to eat. I wouldn't get her less than that. You could probably buy her a group of Point-of-Lay pullets and that would be less trouble for her.

I agree use the Wisconsin thread here to post you will find many here

I have 3 hens that lay 3 a day. Consistently.
Are they young? When they get older or go into molt they will slack off or stop completely for a little while. The only thing keeping us in eggs right now is our 18 pullets that just started laying most of my older birds are only giving me 1-3 a week, if that.

That's a really good idea and sounds a lot more fun than just getting eggs delivered I just wouldn't know where to start with that and where to keep them. Stupid question/comment but i'd then need to get her a coop and make sure it's heated for winter time right?
