Shock after fox attack

I had a fox attack my chickens midday. One was killed and carried off. It looks like another had a bunch of feathers grabbed and then hid really well. I couldn't find her until a few hours later. She appears to be moving fine and I don't see anything damage wise, but I've not been able to handle her. She's in the coop, up on her roost, head down, eyes closed. If I try to go into the coop, she takes evasive action. The others are leaving her alone.

I'm thinking that it's best to just let her be in the coop. I think me grabbing her and bringing her away from the flock to put her inside would be more traumatizing for her.

Am I thinking right?

I will be getting electrolytes for their water.

If she's still up there in the morning, then what?

One time my dog attacked a hen that had been missing for a month.I’m sure she was at least a little shocked but I just left her in the coop.

I would look her over for injuries. I know she is traumatized but you don't want anything getting infected.

Some of mine don't like being looked over. So I always have a treat after like scrabbled egg or canned cat food.

Maybe wait until after dark to pluck her off the roost, she may be a little calmer then. If it was my hen I think I would put her in a dog crate in the coop if there is room or in the house if not, so I could monitor her, make sure she's eating and drinking, and check her over real well for injuries. Also like you said, be sure she gets those electrolytes for shock. That way if she needs care, you already have her where you can take care of her without having to chase her.

Being removed from the flock is stressful for a chicken. Personally I would leave her with the flock. Maybe look her over after dark for any wounds that might need care
