I moved out a batch of 26 x 6-8 week old chicks to my big growout pen and extra coop last week. Last night I moved another 28 out to join them. They are mostly all for sale, so the numbers will dwindle as they get bigger. Nothing beats seeing 50 'teenagers' running around in the grass and enjoying the sun. There was a lot of bullying going on last night, but as there are 26 "old" versus 28 "new", it should keep it to a relative minimum. They are not hugely different in age or size.....and some have even spent some brooder time together before being moved out.
Here is their coop
And the "old ones" on their jungle gym
And the "new ones" looking a bit shell shocked.....
