as above..

Our sussex line is tiny but our bluebell is a beast! Both female and almost exactly the same age. How can I try and fatten up the Sussex Line if it is underweight? I picked up them both yesterday and the Bluebell seemed almost 150% the weight at least.

They have both had the same food available and they all get on well together.

Are you positive they are the same age? The best way to tell if a chicken is under or overweight is to feel the breastbone. if it feels sharp and pointy with little meat on either side then it is too thin, if you can barely feel it then it is overweight. Somewhere in between is ideal. It could be though that they are just growing at a different rate if they are still youngsters. Post a pic and the experts will be able to tell you.

Thanks! Great advice.. we got them at the same time from a local hatchery. The Sussex is about a week older I think so theres nothing in it.

We are worried she has been ill.. video of here here:

We don;t actually think it has sour crop after all but it does still make head movements as if its having problems. We've had her about six months when we got them as point of lay.
