Should eggs be on their sides, or large end up?

I've found a bit conflicting info on which way round eggs should be in the incubator.
My incubator has got a turner, which I would really like to use, as I'm not sure if will have the time each day to turn them enough. However, it only works with them on their sides, is this a problem?
They are being shipped, so if they had a rough trip then I guess they will have to be upright, but what if they appear good? (i.e. air cells in the right position)

As long as the eggs are being rotated either way will be fine. I do both and have had good results both ways. Let the eggs sit large end up for a day or two so they can settle before putting them in the bator.

What model incubator are you using?
Thanks for your reply!
The incubator is Janoel 24, which is a fairly cheap make, but I'm not planning to use it very much so I didn't want to spend too much.

When I get shipped eggs I let them sit 12 hours pointy side down in cartons to “rest“ from their trip. Then I check aircells and mark them. They then go in the incubator pointy side down and I turn gently from side to side several times a day in cut down egg cartons with a hole in the bottom for air circulation. After that they all just go in on their sides with the turner regardless of how the aircells look. There’s much debate about how to incubate shipped eggs. Everyone has their own way of doing it.
Good luck.😊

I have one of those as well. I'd just use the automatic turner that it comes with.
Thats good to know, as not very many people seem to have them. How do you find yours?
It's my first time using an incubator, so any tips are good. And am I right in with how the turner works? I think it basically just rolls them?

In the moment, I don't have any egg cartons, as I didn't realise that I might need them. I have orded some plastic ones, but I'm not sure if they will get here in time. What would you do, if you didn't have any?

Yes, it just rolls the eggs side to side.

It's a decent incubator for the price I got it. My main problem is my temperature fluctuates quite a bit, but I manage.

Buy a dozen eggs in the store.😊 Cardboard cartons work best and are easy to cut down.
