When my chicks come should I add anything to the water? Sugar? Or just leave it as plain water?

Unless you end up with a frail or weak chick, I'd skip the sugar and just provide them fresh clean water.
Also, please don't let anyone talk you into adding antibiotics to their water "just in case". Healthy chicks do not need antibiotics and using them in the absence of a bona fide illness can make them ineffective if and when you do need them.
Good luck with your chicks.
I'm waiting until June to get mine. It's a long time until June.

You can add sugar to the water or try "Quik Chik" that has electrolytes and a boat load of vitamins in it. You can get it from McMurray Hatchery. Just put a teaspoon in a gallon of water and you can also add sugar with it if you want. You can also mix it in the food....

I have fed a little sugar in the water first day, then only fresh well water without any chemicals!

Good Luck

I also read OrganicChickens yahoo group and they recommend adding organic apple cider vinegar (ACV) and garlic.
