Should I be concerned?

Hi
So I was reading about duck treats and was reading about apples and how the seeds are toxic. My ducks are in our orchard and we have apple trees and some apples have fallen on the ground. I didn’t worry about it because I didn’t know about the seeds and I thought apples were safe for them to consume. I remember seeing a few days ago an apple that had bite marks in it. They’ve been having a blast in the orchard. They all are healthy and happy and running around. So what should I do? Check for apples everyday and get rid of them somehow?
Thanks!
Kelly

The seeds contain trace amounts, I wouldn’t worry.

Generally speaking your ducks will be fine. They would need some form of concentrated seeds not whole apples to be toxic. If you were crushing the apples for juice and they were rummaging through and picking out the seeds or something like that is probably not great.

Thank you, that is good to know!:D

I’m in apple country and most of the “back to basics” orchards and cideries around here use ducks and geese to control the slugs and snails.
