Why do people say not to feed geese out of your hand, i've heard this alot is it cos of biting? I wanted to try and tame them, its going well with the male but the female is too scared she freaks out everytime i pick her up. When we first got her all of the feathers had been plucked from her back she has a deformed foot aswell so i think the other birds had been picking on her. It's also a dominance thing. If you feed them out of your hands, its like putting them in a higher position & giving them a leadership role, and if they see themselves as "the boss" you may end up with an aggressive goose.
Of course, this is generally speaking, there are some people who hand feed their geese and have no issues, so its pretty much your call.
