Should I buy an old hen to teach my cockerels and pullets

I have 3 pullets and 2 cockerels they stay out all day on free range but they don't really eat anything like they should. I am debating on getting an old hen hoping she would teach them what to eat and what not to eat. Any advice is appreciated

if they're staying out free ranging all day, I can guarantee you they're eating anything and everything that they see. You're just not seeing them do it. It's what they live for, eat, eat, eat, eat, breed, eat eat sleep a little, and eat some more, LOL

you can buy an old hen if you want, but it's 99% not necessary if you're thinking you need to teach them to eat....
