if you paid $2 for the bird...there are certain birds that emotionally you would pay $200 to the vet....the rest of them you would just buy another $2 bird and not worry about it. i have one out of about 120 that is a pet...he's rooster with a bad leg...but he’s my guy

If it were me i would not preform a procedure on a happy duck. Some people do dumb stuff like swallow razor blades ect. The digestive track is surprisingly quite resistant to penetration. Ducks can get metal poisoning from eating galvanized metal so that would be my only concern that i would bring up with the vet.

anybody else?? i would so appreciate some more ppl's thoughts.. this is tough..
