I’m kind of in a stuck situation right now. My Welsummer hen, Jupiter, has gotten broody again. It is the start of February and today where I live it was a low of 12 degrees. Jupiter has been a Mom quite a few times now, and is very good with chicks, but should I let her hatch eggs when it’s this cold out? Will she still be able to keep them warm? We have a place in our barn specially reserved for her when she hatches chicks, and we usually use a heat lamp too just in case. The bad thing is, next week it will be very cold, around 6 degrees the whole week. Please give me some advise on if I should let her hatch eggs or not!

I agree! You should probably have a heat lamp prepared just in case but I am sure things will turn out fine. Is this her first time being a mother to baby chicks? Egg-citing!

No, this actually would be her third time! And thanks for the advice! ^^
