I have a couple of broody hens - picked up fertalized eggs fm MSU - the girls are sitting on them nicely - but during the day when the other hens want to lay their eggs, they are forcing the broodies off their nests so that they can lay - and the broody will simply go to another nest - I always put her back on her clutch - but I'm not with her constantly...do you think it would be dangerous to move her to a separate area or leave her where she is and hope for the best and next time, be sure that I have her in a separate area? THANKS

I've never tried this, but this is how someone claims to be able to move a broody hen and keep her broody.

There are risks involved both ways, but I think I'd try to move them since the hens are moving to different nests. I'd try moving only one. If that worked, I'd then try to move the other. If one hen can cover them all, I'd use fake eggs for the move, golf balls, plastic eggs, wooden eggs, whatever. Less chance of breaking one during the move. I trust you have the eggs marked so you know which eggs go with which hen.
