Should I paint the wooden eggs?

I bought a dozen eggs from hobby lobby, only 13.72 including shipping Anyhow I was wondering if I should paint it or just leave it natural wood. I have brown egg layers if that makes any difference. My new hens quit laying and I am hoping to help show them where to go

Nope, hens don't care what color they are. You might want to spray some shelac on them (maybe?) to waterproof them. I have white golfballs in my nests for my brown egg layers. They don't care.

Yeah, I've heard of people putting golf balls in the nests, so it shouldn't make too much difference what colour they are.
