Hello,
I own a cut flower farm in central Texas and we are considering adding a vertical pumpkin patch at the opposite end of the property from our flowers. We have most likely decided to allow the pumpkins to grow vertically as this cuts down on pests, but wondered if introducing ducks would be beneficial in this area as well? It will be fenced from the rest of the property.

Yes, do it! I grow the squash “zucchinio” on a cattle panel in my duck’s garden. They have taken a bite of a leaf or flower they can reach but the do not really like them. You would only have to protect young plants. The ducks do like eating snails, slugs, and insects which are attracted to it. I hope vine borers :fl.
