Our crested lays and lays and lays..currently there are about 15 eggs under her in her nest. We had to take our Drake to the pond because he was attacking (mating) all our chickens!! Nearly drowned them all!

Our roosters "Mate" with our duck~

Obviously, the eggs are NOT fertile since we have No male duck!

How long "should" we leave the eggs in her nest? I hate to just toss them out but hate to find them rotten under her esp in the heat!!

We feel sorry for her just sitting on them, since they wont hatch~ unless the roosters fertilized them!!

Id say take them all. Do it before she goes broody. If you feel bad about it place some fake easter eggs under her or golf balls. But make sure they are light colored because ducks know the difference and will throw the dark eggs out.

Yeah, you're going to have to remove the eggs. She may cry about it for a while, but she won't suffer long--soon she'll be out rooting for bugs again. Or, like the goat said, you can put some fakes under her.

After today, start collecting her eggs every day. You know you can eat them just like chicken eggs, right? They're very yummy.

How long ago did you remove your drake? I think the eggs can be fertile up to a week or more after the absense of a drake. Take a few eggs inside and crack them into a tupperware, etc. and if there is a light spot in the yolk, that means they are fertile.. good luck!
