I would really appreciate opinions on my young Silver Laced Wyandotte's shoulder injury. She doesn't seem ill but

I can't think how she would have sustained this injury. It's dry and not bleeding but is obviously irritating her.

When I try to zoom in on your photo, I lose the definition.

Is that an OPEN SHOULDER JOINT I’M SEEING?

It does look like it doesn't it!!!
I only just noticed it as she seems perfectly normal. I've had her since day old so its really really odd. Best take her to the vets today!
I've had chickens for years with no issues and in the last month this is my 3rd hen who has had to go to the vet.....sigh :(

Good gosh yes. If you have access to a vet, I would definitely call.

Poor thing.

If that joint is open she’ll need surgery to remove the wing.
And antibiotics. And extended care as she heals.

Please keep us posted by updating after you’ve taken her!

Still would love to see clearer pics.
If you’re taking them with your phone, tap the screen right where the wound is so the lens focuses right there.
Don’t zoom. It’s much clearer if you don’t.
And if you are using an Iphone, (all but the new 10), the selfie camera isn’t quite as good as the forward facing camera.

I'll clean it out and post some more photos and let you guys know what the vet says.
There's terrible that you are having so much trouble.
Do you think this is related to what was going on with your other 2?
