show quality Barred Rocks

Bantams aside, try asking kathyinmo or someone else from the Heritage thread or the old thread on Good Shepard Poultry Ranch. (search 'em up

) - I'm sure there's a good handful with very nice LF/Standard birds.

There are a few nice lines of Barred Rocks represented here on BYC. These will be turning 20 weeks old this coming Wednesday. I've always loved my Barred Rocks, but these up and coming youngsters are some real eye candy around here. Will always have BRs as the backbone of my flock. Love my blue, black and splashes as well, but nothing like a good quality barred Rock, is there?

Speckledhen yor barred rocks are beautiful! Wish mine looked like that, but I just have hatchery stock. I have a little boy that we hatched out in April that is close. Barring is much better than his parents.

Don't get me wrong-it was hatchery stock that made me love my Rocks! I still have the progeny of hatchery stock in my flocks, too, though the actual hatchery birds have passed on. Just figured if I was getting more anyway, I'd get more better looking!
