Are show quality black australorps as productive as hatchery australorps

Most show quality birds, regardless of breed, are not as productive as hatchery birds. Exhibition quality are bred for the purpose of type and winning shows. Hatchery birds are bred for typically egg production only.

The reason I asked is I'm wanting to start a breeding program to develop a new variety of australorp but I'm wanting to keep the high egg production that australorps are known for but keep as close to the the SOP as possible.

I don't think they would be. I've never had a show black Australorp but I have Heritage RIR and they don't lay near as well as the commercial Rhode Island red.
