I just went to an annual poultry and pigeon show today in whangarei and saw that most of the silkies were not very, very fluffy like the ones on internet. They look almost like mine, but they still had won lots of prizes. So i think next year I will enter some silkies. But what exactly do the judges look for? I know everything about the 5 toes and all... but are there any other specific things? Do I need to wash my silkies first? It would be helpful for any proffessional breeders to post some pics of some SQ silkies here plz!

you should for certain wash your birds before a show. You may think your birds look wonderfull anyway, but you would be surprised what a difference a bath makes. Quite possibly what your viewing on the internet with "fluffy" silkies is US silkies. Our silkies in the United States are very different than what other countries have, Just how certain breeds of dogs look different from country to country...its just the country and what is more in fashion or what is popular for things. we raise our birds in the US to fit out American Standards, so yours are going to differ. We raise silkies to have extra large crests and extreme feahtings compared to most countries. You might want to look into what is the standard for your country.
