So 34 days ago I set 8 Muscovy eggs in my incubator. 1 was infertile. 1 quit early on. 3 quit halfway through and 2 quit yesterday or day before. I’m down to 1 baby Muscovy left. She had internally pipped over 3 days ago. Throughout the hatch my humidity has been ok, it was hard to control on days or nights I worked because it would start to drop after 6 hrs, and I work 12 hr shifts.
I was keeping a close eye on the air cells and they were looking good

Unfortunately I was worrying about the duckling pipping such a long time ago. I checked the other 2 I had in the incubator who also had internally pipped a couple days ago but weren’t chirping or moving anymore. I saw no movement in those when I candled, so made a small hole to check them, still no movement or noises. Opened them a Little more and found they were shrink wrapped and had died.

So I did the same with the last living duckling egg, slowly opened it. And found the duckling was shrink wrapped. I was able to remove about 1/4 of egg and membrane then saw a bit of blood and stopped. I worked last night and am actually supposed to work again tonight, didn’t get a whole lotta sleep, had to keep setting my alarm to check humidity and to see if veins have absorbed anymore. Now I have been aiming for a humidity of around 65% today to see if she will be able to absorb more veins and yolk( I think I can see a little yolk at back that still needs to be absorbed). My dear mom who knows how much my pets mean to me is gonna keep an eye on her overnight while I work. I’m gonna bring her the incubator. That way the humidity can be kept at a good level. I’ve put polysporin on the membrane to see the veins and keep her moist. The only other thing I’ve been doing is using a qtip to clean off her beak cause every couple hrs she get some crusty yellow stuff on her beak.

so I guess I’m wondering how high should I keep the humidity? Is there something else I should be doing? How long does it normally take to absorb the yolk?

It’s awful lighting in the pic but here she is

Sorry you're having bad luck. Keep her membrane nice and moist. I would up the humidity to 75% if you can. Do see any yawning or chewing motions? Watch for a few minutes and see if she makes any. That would indicate there's still yolk. All you can do is keep her moist and wait until those blood veins recede. Good luck! I'm pulling for her!

So I left duckling and incubator with my mom while I work tonight, my mom just texted me said duckling is mostly out of shell just bottom is still attached and yolk is not fully absorbed, what should we do?
