Hi,

Have any of you used the shrinky dink type bags for storing processed birds? Where you put the chicken in the bag, and drop it in hot water so it shrink wraps? If so, were they worth it? What is the best place to get them? Anything else I should know?

We are fixing to slaughter meat birds, and I want to make sure they freeze well.

Thanks!
Hannah

Hmmm, I have never heard of these bags. I have...and use a food saver. Altho...sometimes these big birds dont want to fit! LOL

Ditto - never heard of them....

I bought a food saver to vacuum seal my meats and meals etc...

Hmmm....hadn't even thought about bags to put them in.....glad someone mentioned it!!!! We're not butchering for a while, but it would have sucked to have 30 birds and nothing to put them in!!!!

There was a sticky for them. But the guy stopped selling them form what I recall. I will have a look for them again tomorrow.

I also have a food saver, which can do pieces, but I'd like to freeze several whole roasters... and there is absolutely no way my lil food saver can do that. We grow 'em big!
